Full house for the March Camp Meeting. We appreciate Mrs. Gardner - of the Mississippi Department of Archives & History - and her family for coming to speak about the new Two Museums opening in Dec. to coincide with the state's bicentennial. We welcomed two new members: -Mr. Paul A. McCraw Joined under his ancestor Private Otho Grantham, Co. A, 38th Mississippi Cavalry -Mr. Willard Earl Chatham Joined under his ancestor Sgt. Kirkland Obediah May, Co. G, 7th Mississippi Infantry, "Goode Rifles" Misters Chris Bryant and Bruce Warren spoke about their candidacy for the upcoming Fourth Brigade election.

Author Grady Howell spoke to the about about his new book, "SHILOH!: Place of Peace, Piece of Hell." Our Fall Muster Turkey Shoot winner, Ms. Bryant, was presented with her prize; our newest member Mr. Larry Eubanks was welcomed; member Tom Fortenberry won the Confederate bond in the yearly membership drawing.

Jim Woodrick with the Mississippi Department of Archives & History spoke on the Siege of Jackson. Initiative 58 and other business was discussed. A new member was voted in. Door Prizes were won. Thanks to the ladies for the delicious desserts.

Fantastic meeting! Brother James Taylor from Calhoun City was our speaker and gave a fantastic presentation. We were honored to have current SCV Division Cmdr. Louis Foley and wife as well as former Cmdr. Allen Terrell in attendance. National and State level awards were presented to Tim Cupit, Chuck Gray, and James Taylor.

Great crowd on Independence Day weekend. Very informative presentation by SCV member Joel Redman on Newt Knight and the "Free State of Jones." Thanks to Mrs. Cheryl Bruce for accepting the camp donation for the Wounded Warriors of Mississippi. Two new members, Misters Grady Polk and Mr. Jeff Rayner joined the camp.

Packed house for Mr. Dan Duggan's presentation on the 1864 Battle of Franklin. Several Relic Show door prize winners were present to receive their winnings. Mr. Shelby Rayner joined the camp under his ancestor Pvt. William David Jackson Thrash. Camp member Damen Tackett gave an update on the Peckinpaugh family.

Our guest speaker tonight was Mrs. Bridget Smith. She presented on her book, Where Elephants Fought, a story about the death of Earl Van Dorn. Today marked 153 years since his death. It was a very interesting presentation.

Paulette French gave a presentation on the 10th Mississippi Volunteer Infantry Regiment about which she has written a regimental history in both soft and hardbound format. Mr. Tal Floyd was sworn in as 3rd Ltn. Cmdr. Mr. Butch Kuriger was sworn-in as new Sergeant-at-Arms. We appreciate everyone for coming out and the numerous visitors we had in the audience.
